Customer Support Technician – CMP

About the role

The Customer Support Technician – CMP provides on‑site maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer training for Applied Materials' semiconductor equipment in Shanghai. The role ensures equipment uptime, quality, and customer satisfaction through scheduled and reactive service activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily work schedules for preventive and remedial maintenance within the assigned territory.
• Perform periodic maintenance (daily to annual) and wet cleans on systems, adhering to established time frames.
• Instruct customers on operation and maintenance of equipment and provide technical assistance to junior staff.
• Execute Tier II start‑ups, assist with Tier III start‑ups, and support warranty, paid service, and service contract activities.
• Track equipment performance, implement productivity improvement plans, and apply Statistical Process Control and Quality Improvement Process methods.
• Serve as liaison between Applied Materials and customer front‑line management for administrative and technical matters.

Required profile

• Physically able to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 35 lb, and work in clean‑room environments using appropriate PPE.
• Strong communication skills for customer interaction and internal coordination.
