Customer Engineer III – Field Service (DDP)

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading semiconductor and display equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to understand roadmaps, process flows and business challenges, and coordinate communication to ensure smooth operations.
• Train and mentor junior field service engineers, and fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, trade certification or equivalent field service experience.
• 4‑7 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry with strong mechanical aptitude (pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, thermodynamics).
• Proficiency with hand tools, digital multimeters and basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport.
