Customer Engineer – Field Service (C1)

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you will act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to resolve technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
• Ability to meet on‑site safety, environmental and COVID‑19 requirements.
