Commodity Buyer – Connectors

About the role

ZF is seeking an experienced Commodity Buyer to join its Purchasing team in Guangzhou. You will be responsible for sourcing commodities on time, meeting business unit targets, and closing cost gaps against best‑practice benchmarks.

Key responsibilities

• Commodity sourcing and on‑time delivery, ensuring BU targets are met.
• Achieving and managing cost‑saving initiatives.
• Purchase order administration and supplier classification/database management.
• Initiating and negotiating supplier contracts, including terms & conditions, consignment, logistics, and quality directives.
• Participating in part‑family strategy and development.
• Providing daily support to business units on supplier‑related and commercial matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in commodity purchasing.
• Experience in supplier analysis and evaluation (quality, capacity, cost, etc.).
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel for business and work overtime when needed.

Required skills

• Proficient use of MS Office suite.
• Experience with SAP (preferred).
