CNC Operator I

About the role

The CNC Operator I is responsible for safely starting and running CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and equipment longevity while meeting quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Start up and operate CNC machines safely and effectively.
• Follow manufacturing specifications to produce products that meet quality standards.
• Adjust machine settings under guidance of setters/engineers for tool changes or material variations.
• Operate ancillary equipment such as bar feeders and internal probes according to specifications.
• Download and upload CNC programs to/from external PCs or control systems.
• Change over jigs and fixtures, ensuring proper storage and handling.
• Record job transactions and monitor work‑in‑process accurately.
• Report quality issues to the cell leader and comply with good manufacturing practice for traceability.

Required profile

• Ability to follow detailed technical and quality specifications.
• Attention to equipment safety, maintenance, and proper documentation.

Required skills

• Operation of CNC machines.
• Use of bar feeders and internal probing equipment.
• Downloading and uploading CNC programs via PC or control system.
• Adjustment of machine settings for tool and material changes.
