CNC Operator I

About the role

The CNC Operator I is responsible for starting up and running CNC machines safely and efficiently to ensure high performance and equipment longevity. The role supports production by following specifications and maintaining quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Start up and run CNC machines in a safe, effective manner.
• Follow manufacturing specifications to consistently produce products to required quality standards.
• Adjust machine settings under guidance of setters/engineers for tool changes or material variations.
• Operate ancillary equipment such as bar feeders and internal probes according to specifications.
• Download CNC programs to/from external PCs or control systems.
• Change over jigs and fixtures, storing them properly to prevent damage or misuse.
• Report quality issues to the cell leader as required.
• Maintain full material and product traceability in compliance with GMP.
• Accurately record job transactions and monitor work‑in‑process.

• Ability to follow detailed technical and quality specifications.
• Commitment to good manufacturing practices and traceability.
• Willingness to perform additional tasks assigned by the cell leader.

Required skills

• Operation of CNC machines.
• Use of bar feeders and internal probing equipment.
• Downloading and managing CNC programs.
• Tool setting adjustments and machine parameter changes.
• Basic understanding of GMP and quality reporting.
