China Sourcing Lead

About the role

Formlabs is looking for a China Sourcing Lead to head its global sourcing team, ensuring the delivery of cutting‑edge 3D‑printing hardware to market. The role combines leadership of commodity and sourcing managers with strategic supplier development across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of commodity managers, sourcing managers and program managers to secure cost‑competitive, high‑quality, on‑time delivery.
• Provide technology and supply‑chain capabilities that shape the hardware product roadmap.
• Own COGS analysis, reporting and cost‑reduction initiatives for all hardware products.
• Lead negotiations to achieve optimal cost, quality and timeline performance from suppliers.
• Mentor and coach the team to grow purchasing and supply‑chain expertise.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with accounting, engineering design and sustaining engineering.
• Ramp new sourcing efforts in response to product changes, supply‑chain redesign, and new manufacturing locations.
• Analyze purchasing trends, develop sourcing alternatives and identify high‑potential global suppliers.
• Manage and cultivate commercial relationships with sub‑tier suppliers.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 + years of relevant work experience.
• Proven ability to hire, develop and lead high‑performing talent.
• Experience in technical procurement and product development.
• Strong supplier‑relationship management and problem‑resolution skills.
• Motivated to optimise processes for scalable supply‑chain and sourcing operations.
• Comfortable working with international partners worldwide.
