Buyer II – Strategic Materials Procurement

About the role

The Buyer II will manage material requirements planning (MRP) to align supply with demand while driving cost optimisation across Jabil’s manufacturing network. This role supports strategic material sourcing, supplier development and pricing negotiations to meet customer and business unit objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute supply‑base and supply‑chain strategies for strategic materials.
• Collaborate with Purchasing Manager and SCM to determine optimal sourcing approaches.
• Conduct supplier audits, certifications and performance reviews, and communicate Jabil expectations.
• Quote new and existing materials, re‑quote and negotiate to capture cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, liability clauses and special stocking arrangements.
• Analyse and project component purchase prices for standard costing and material price variance (MPV) optimisation.
• Support Jabil SCM initiatives, provide feedback to Materials Planners and monitor supplier delivery, quality and service performance.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or supply‑chain roles with responsibility for MRP management.
• Proven ability to develop supplier relationships and conduct performance assessments.
• Strong negotiation skills and understanding of total cost of ownership.
• Capability to analyse pricing data and influence customer supply‑chain strategies.

Required skills

• Familiarity with MRP systems and standard costing processes.
• Knowledge of supplier audit and certification procedures.
