Business Director, DevOps Lead

About the role

WPP Media is seeking a senior DevOps leader to design, build and operate the cloud, deployment, security and reliability foundations for its AI‑driven media platforms in China. The role will create secure, automated and observable environments that support enterprise applications, data services, AI workloads and high‑volume content processing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and operation of cloud infrastructure across AWS China and other local cloud providers.
• Build secure, scalable environments for applications, APIs, data workloads, AI models and digital asset processing.
• Deploy and manage containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, establishing standards for images, registries and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application, infrastructure, data and AI deployments, incorporating IaC, automated testing and security checks.
• Define and enforce monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting and incident‑management processes, as well as backup and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Embed security controls including identity and access management, secrets management, encryption and network security.
• Establish operational health metrics, capacity planning and resilience testing to improve reliability.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on technical capability with extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated ability to operate large‑scale technology platforms in China, navigating local compliance and connectivity constraints.
• Proven leadership skills to guide cross‑functional teams and align regional operations with global standards.
