Business Development Manager, China Branded

About the role

Ocean Spray is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead its branded B2C retail and e‑commerce business in mainland China. You will own the end‑to‑end commercial strategy, partner selection and profit‑driven growth for the Ocean Spray branded portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual business and account plans covering channel strategy, new‑product roadmap, distribution expansion and trade promotion.
• Select, onboard, train and incentivise external channel and broker partners, tracking performance against volume and budget targets.
• Lead quarterly business reviews, manage trade deductions, promotion governance and SPR opportunity intake.
• Engage senior e‑commerce and retail stakeholders, balancing partner needs with Ocean Spray’s profitability objectives.
• Collect market intelligence on category trends, competitor activity and consumer insights to uncover new channel opportunities.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing, supply‑chain, logistics, legal and finance to align product launches and resolve operational bottlenecks.
• Monitor sell‑through, inventory health and P&L performance, providing regular forecasts to Asia leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Food Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5‑7 years of experience in branded FMCG/CPG or food‑beverage sales, with proven success managing China e‑commerce and retail under a light‑touch distributor‑broker model.
• Hands‑on e‑commerce operations, product‑management and P&L ownership experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and cross‑team collaboration abilities.
• Proficiency in financial modelling, scenario planning and knowledge of tax‑compliance requirements.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.
