Backend Engineer, AI Internal Systems

About the role

ActAI is building AI‑powered internal systems to streamline its own operations across people, finance, recruiting and more. As a Backend Engineer you will turn AI concepts into production‑ready tools that automate repetitive tasks and support better decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship AI‑enhanced backend services from idea to production.
• Identify internal workflow bottlenecks and propose AI‑driven automation solutions.
• Integrate APIs, databases and cloud services to enable intelligent workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Own the full lifecycle of features, including monitoring, iteration and maintenance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in backend, full‑stack or platform development.
• Strong programming fundamentals and ability to solve ambiguous problems.
• Track record of shipping production software, AI applications or automation systems.
• Self‑starter comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment.
• Effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
