AWS Legal Corporate Counsel

About the role

Amazon's Legal Department seeks an experienced attorney to join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) team in Beijing. The Corporate Counsel will act as a trusted advisor to business and marketing groups, handling complex cloud‑technology transactions and helping scale legal support for a global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and close high‑value, strategic commercial agreements for AWS services.
• Provide ongoing legal counsel to business and marketing teams on cloud‑technology initiatives.
• Manage legal issues in existing commercial relationships and assess risks for new business opportunities.
• Handle pre‑litigation disputes, inquiries, and other ad‑hoc legal matters.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of legal experience, preferably in transactional and technology licensing.
• Juris Doctor (or equivalent) and admission to a state bar or comparable jurisdiction.
• Licensed to practice law in China and/or a common‑law jurisdiction (US, UK, etc.).
• Strong understanding of Chinese law and commercial practices.

Required skills

• Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in English and Chinese.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure technologies and AWS services.
• Experience with technology licensing and complex legal agreements.
