Automotive Software Architect

About the role

Qualcomm China is seeking an experienced Automotive Software Architect to lead the design and development of next‑generation automotive SoC software solutions. You will translate product requirements into robust software architectures that align with hardware blocks and automotive industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive the architecture, design, and development strategy for automotive software products.
• Provide technical leadership and decision‑making for software development teams.
• Collaborate across hardware and software groups to define unified software architectures and interfaces.
• Design and implement software subsystems for large‑scale, complex automotive solutions.
• Review detailed designs, recommend implementation approaches, and ensure compliance with ASPICE, functional safety (FuSa) and cybersecurity standards.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate feasibility, set priorities, and communicate technical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience for ARM‑based systems (8+ years for Master’s holders, 5+ years for PhD holders).
• Proven experience as a software system architect in automotive projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
