About the role
Nature Materials is seeking an Associate or Senior Editor to join its editorial team. The role involves handling original research papers, commissioning content, and collaborating with editors across the Nature Portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Assess manuscripts, make editorial decisions and oversee peer review.
- Commission and edit Reviews, Perspectives, News & Views, and Editorials.
- Collaborate with editors at other Nature journals and with the international scientific community.
- Attend conferences and visit research institutions to stay abreast of developments.
Required profile
- PhD or equivalent qualification in materials science or a related field.
- Broad understanding of recent trends in materials science, especially metallic, inorganic or 2D materials.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel internationally to meet scientists and attend events.
- Passion for science and a strong curiosity beyond one’s specialty.
