Application Engineer – New Graduate (2027) – Multiple Cities

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a 2027 graduate to join its Application Engineering team in China. The role supports customers on‑site, turning business needs into practical technical solutions for semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Deeply explore customers' on‑site technical challenges and business drivers, translating them into actionable solutions.
• Lead technical progress of complex application projects, coordinating with R&D, product, service, and customer teams to meet project goals and KPI targets.
• Support on‑site evaluations and technical demos, ensuring smooth project implementation and expected outcomes.
• Develop, validate, and deploy solutions that deliver customer value while tracking progress for high‑quality delivery.
• Create and optimise application methods to improve system performance for specific process and production requirements.
• Transfer new product capabilities and best practices to the support team, accelerating adoption of emerging technologies.
• Participate in technical reviews and business discussions to build trusted technical partnerships.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher, graduating in 2027, in micro‑electronics, physics, chemistry or materials science.
• Strong teamwork spirit, fast learning ability and adaptability to a rapidly evolving technical environment.
• Excellent English communication and technical presentation skills for effective interaction with global teams and customers.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
