Application Advanced Engineer

About the role

The Application Advanced Engineer will lead cushion design, development and engineering activities across Asia, ensuring compliance with Autoliv standards, legal requirements and OEM specifications. The role supports technology transfer, cost optimisation and quality improvement within the cushion product line.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cushion design, development and engineering in Asia following Autoliv standards, legal and OEM requirements.
• Manage cushion development projects to meet cost, timing and quality objectives.
• Participate in LLs work, case studies, TFC reviews, design reviews and share knowledge with the team.
• Assist Group managers in GDP activities and facilitate global technology transfer to Asia.
• Maintain cushion design guidelines and implement PLM/DVM/CAD processes.
• Define quotations and qualify new materials.
• Lead line and design workshops to enhance plant capabilities.
• Select key components and materials for new cushion developments.
• Support SQE in improving supplier technical skills.
• Evaluate engineering change requests, reporting feasibility, time and cost impacts.
• Represent cushion engineering in project teams and aid project managers with internal coordination.
• Report project status on cost, timing and quality to project leaders and technical managers.
• Support and review work of assistant cushion engineers.
• Provide technical assistance to production for rapid issue resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and standardisation.

Required profile

• Familiarity with Autoliv standards, legal requirements and OEM specifications.
• Ability to manage projects against cost, schedule and quality targets.
• Experience in coordinating cross‑functional engineering reviews and workshops.
