Account Manager – Nutrition & Plant‑Based Business (Shanghai)

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive its nutrition and plant‑based business in China. Based in Shanghai, you will work onsite with a creative, solution‑oriented team to deliver sustainable innovations for food and beverage manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring revenue, profitability and forecast accuracy.
• Drive nutrition and plant‑based business growth in China, managing commercial aspects of assigned accounts and meeting sales targets.
• Deliver nutrition solutions and services on time, aligned with customer requirements.
• Identify, develop and evaluate new business opportunities, converting them into sales.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive movements and market potential, providing insights to the team.
• Implement business processes and sales tools (forecasting, pricing, opportunities, call reports) on a monthly basis.
• Collaborate with peers and management to achieve personal and company sales targets and foster a team‑based culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology or a related field.
• 5–8 years of sales, account or business management experience in an international company.
• Proven experience managing distribution business and key accounts in China.
• Knowledge of nutrition and beverage markets is preferred.
• Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
