Software Architect – Escalator Control Systems

About the role

We are looking for a senior software architect to lead the design and evolution of next‑generation escalator control systems. The role combines embedded real‑time development, functional safety, and IoT connectivity, and will shape the architecture across multiple MCU and Linux‑based platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the software architecture for escalator control, covering embedded real‑time control, functional safety and IoT connectivity.
• Lead architectural decisions across MCU and Linux‑based boards, establishing system interfaces and communication protocols.
• Drive cybersecurity and functional‑safety architecture in line with IEC 62443 and IEC 61508.
• Set architectural standards, coding guidelines and design patterns for the embedded software team.
• Collaborate with the global architecture community to align local designs with company‑wide platform direction.
• Mentor team members, conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with safety and security standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of embedded software development experience, including at least 5 years in a software architect or senior technical leadership role.
• Excellent English communication; Chinese native speaker preferred.

Required skills

• Embedded real‑time systems (RTOS, bare‑metal firmware, Linux – Yocto/Buildroot).
• Safety‑critical standards (IEC 61508, ISO 26262) and cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443).
• Communication protocols: CAN, RS485, Modbus, MQTT, TLS.
