Product Engineering Development Engineer (MEMS)

About the role

The Product Engineering Development Engineer (PED) is the core MEMS sensor and systems specialist during mass production. You will act as the primary technical bridge between product development and high‑volume manufacturing, ensuring product integrity and smooth technical operations throughout the lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor sensor performance in series production and lead root‑cause analysis for any performance deviations using data analytics.
• Conduct risk assessments from ramp‑up onward, delivering high‑quality outcomes for quality, cost, and delivery.
• Manage engineering changes, organize and lead the Change Control Board as required.
• Define and execute MEMS Ongoing Reliability Tests (ORT) during series production.
• Provide technical support for customer complaints and application issues.
• Own engineering sample and ramp‑up clearances to ensure risk‑free transition to high‑volume manufacturing.
• Participate in Task Forces and Focus Teams for investigations on demand.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Semiconductors, Microelectronics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in the semiconductor industry.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of MEMS technology, especially pressure, magnetic and acoustic sensors.
• Risk management practices and formal risk assessment methodologies.
• Systematic engineering problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis.
• Data analytics with experience in visualization tools such as Spotfire or Tableau.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes (Fab, Assembly, Test) and JEDEC qualification standards.
