About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in power electronics to develop mechanical concepts and components for Bosch’s automotive and industrial solutions in Suzhou. You will translate customer and internal requirements into robust designs, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency and high quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical concepts and component designs, perform concept comparison and decision matrix.
  • Apply product engineering methods such as FAM, FMEA, DFMA, DRBFM during development.
  • Create 3D and 2D models using Creo, focusing on housings, covers, shielding plates, busbars, EMC filters, DC‑link, inductors, power module packages and PCBA.
  • Design tolerances that meet functional and manufacturing cost targets for both suppliers and Bosch.
  • Initiate and oversee simulations to identify technical risks and validate designs.
  • Conduct technical reviews, align with customers, hardware, system, layout, technology and reliability teams.
  • Define assembly flow and DFMA with the plant, generate specifications and BOM.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing and quality to ensure component quality and support series release.
  • Assist production line setup, sample builds, ramp‑up, problem solving and quality improvement.
  • Handle customer complaints related to design issues and support benchmarking of market‑leading solutions.

Required profile

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in high‑voltage power electronics or automotive product design.
  • Experience covering the full product lifecycle from concept to mass production is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and innovative thinking, curiosity and proactive learning attitude.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with Creo (3D/2D CAD).
  • Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack‑up.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing processes: die casting, plastic, sheet metal.
  • CAE and simulation skills.
  • Familiarity with product engineering methods: FAM, FMEA, DFMA, DRBFM.
  • Basic knowledge of PCB design and assembly processes.
  • English fluency for global collaboration.
