Sr. Associate I, Scientific Education

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Sr. Associate I, Scientific Education to lead the adoption of Phacoemulsification techniques among surgeons and hospitals. The role focuses on hands‑on training in the operating room and wet‑lab, supporting field sales and ensuring optimal use of Alcon’s advanced eye‑care technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Drive conversion of cataract surgeons from ECCE/SICS to Phaco and from Phaco to refractive cataract surgery.
• Provide OR and wet‑lab instruction to surgeons, assistants, biometry technicians and non‑cataract surgeons.
• Demonstrate and coach the use of Alcon products such as the Centurion system, Infiniti laser platform, AcrySof IOLs and related disposables.
• Assess and select target trainees and hospitals to maximize conversion rates.
• Support field sales in product demonstrations and train internal and external personnel on surgical technique and OR protocol.
• Document training activities, evaluate trainee performance and ensure compliance with Alcon reporting procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ophthalmic surgical education or training.
• Strong knowledge of cataract surgery workflows, including Phaco, ECCE and SICS.
• Ability to work onsite with surgeons, hospitals and Alcon consultants.
