About the role

The Assistant Manager – Sales will drive profitable growth for assigned customers in the engineering plastics market. Based in Guangzhou, you will lead sales planning, forecasting and execution while supporting product innovation and digital initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales plans, secure orders and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
  • Identify and nurture key accounts, creating detailed account profiles and growth strategies.
  • Scout new business opportunities, prepare business plans and propose product developments.
  • Conduct field visits, seminars and presentations; respond to technical, quality and application inquiries.
  • Monitor customer credit, coordinate with credit control and ensure timely payment collection.
  • Apply pricing policies, support product launches and oversee marketing and promotion campaigns.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities and emerging technologies to provide actionable intelligence.
  • Promote sustainability projects (chem‑cycling, mechanical recycling, bio‑based materials) and enhance digital tools such as Salesforce and social media channels.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Polymer, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of technical sales experience, preferably within the engineering plastics industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing key accounts.
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate market data into strategic actions.

Required skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of engineering plastics and their applications.
  • Experience with tooling, plastics compounding and application development.
  • Hands‑on expertise in polymer processing techniques such as injection molding, extrusion and blow molding.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and use of digital platforms (WeChat, LinkedIn) for customer engagement.
