Job description

About the role

Bosch is looking for an Application Engineer to support customers using its radar System‑on‑Chip (SoC) solutions. You will work closely with the German engineering team to create reference designs, develop firmware, and provide second‑line technical assistance, helping customers bring radar systems to market.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver customer reference designs for Radar SoC platforms, including low‑level drivers and firmware for sensor control and data I/O.
  • Develop reference radar‑processing software covering range, Doppler, angle estimation, CFAR, and tracking.
  • Support board design, schematic review, and hardware bring‑up activities.
  • Provide 2nd‑line support: reproduce issues, create fixes or work‑arounds, and coordinate with product and firmware teams.
  • Debug hardware and software integration problems and create test benches and validation procedures.
  • Produce technical documentation such as application notes, driver APIs, test reports, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with customers to define requirements, deliver custom demos or prototypes, and conduct training workshops.
  • Feed customer feedback to engineering, research, and product management for roadmap and firmware updates.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Communications, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Typically 3+ years of experience in radar signal processing (FMCW, Doppler, FFT, CFAR, beamforming, MIMO).
  • Familiarity with radar IC architectures and high‑frequency front‑end design.
  • Strong embedded software background with C/C++ development and low‑level driver design.
  • Experience with Linux on embedded platforms and algorithm development using MATLAB/Simulink or Python.
  • Hands‑on hardware experience: PCB bring‑up, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, LVDS, oscillators and clock management.
