APAC Regional Counsel – Legal Leader

About the role

NXP seeks a senior legal leader to head its APAC legal team from Shanghai, driving strategic legal support across China and the wider Asia‑Pacific region. The APAC Regional Counsel will act as the primary bridge between global NXP Legal and regional business units, ensuring fast, outcome‑focused advice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate legal support across APAC, setting priorities and ensuring consistent, high‑quality execution.
• Translate enterprise objectives into practical regional actions and bring regional insights to global decision‑making.
• Provide guidance on strategic initiatives and regulatory matters as a member of China business leadership forums.
• Mentor and develop regional legal talent, creating succession and leadership opportunities.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities to increase efficiency, scalability and consistency of legal services.

Required profile

• Law degree from an accredited university and admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
• Multiple years of in‑house or law‑firm experience in a multinational environment, with leadership responsibility in China or broader APAC.
• Strong understanding of China and APAC business and regulatory environments.
• Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Proven ability to advise senior leaders, influence across boundaries and make sound judgments under pressure.
