About the role
The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Beijing is seeking a motivated Protocol Intern for a six‑month, full‑time, unpaid internship. The intern will work under the UN Partnership and Financing Officer, supporting protocol‑related engagements with government counterparts and high‑level delegations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare draft Note Verbales to ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to support the RCO and UN Country Team mandates.
- Engage with government counterparts on practical protocol issues, contributing to the implementation of the Cooperation Framework.
- Assist the UN Country Team with protocol‑related requests and provide logistical and substantive support for incoming high‑level UN delegations.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s programme.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese; French is a working language of the UN Secretariat.
- Proficiency with standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
