About the role

We are seeking a bilingual Biology teacher to deliver an engaging academic programme in a bilingual (Chinese‑English) environment. The role involves planning, preparing and delivering lessons that promote active learning, while supporting the school’s mission and objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver an academic Biology programme that facilitates active learning for all students.
• Assess, track and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to ensure each student can succeed.
• Manage the classroom environment to support and encourage learning.
• Set high expectations that motivate, challenge and encourage children.
• Identify and meet the varying needs of students.
• Develop the best combination of Chinese and international learning in a bilingual context.
• Ensure outstanding pastoral care and adhere to all safeguarding policies.
• Conduct lectures, prepare test and exam papers, correct papers, and manage classroom work.
• Support school‑wide activities such as PTA, open house, extracurricular programmes and committee work.
• Act as an academic advisor or homeroom teacher when required.
• Collaborate cooperatively with colleagues and develop productive relationships with parents.
• Participate in departmental, school‑based and parental meetings.
• Maintain assessment data on children and report on their activity.
• Undertake supervisory duties shared by colleagues and engage in the co‑curricular life of the school.
• Support the school’s image and profile.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience teaching Biology.
• Fluent in both Chinese and English.
• Ability to create an active learning environment.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Commitment to high expectations and student success.
• Sensitivity to diverse student needs.
• Dedication to pastoral care and safeguarding policies.
• Willingness to participate in school community and extracurricular activities.
