Junior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team is seeking a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to support projects across China. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, applying fundamental geotechnical principles to real‑world infrastructure challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specific portions of broader engineering assignments, following established procedures.
• Gather and correlate basic engineering data, conduct routine calculations and simple tests.
• Propose approaches to solve new problems and identify discrepancies in results.
• Provide guidance to entry‑level engineers and ensure work aligns with budget and schedule under moderate supervision.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design principles.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency with geotechnical software such as Plaxis 2D/3D.
• Experience using Slope W for stability analysis.
