Engineer Security & Fire Protection

About the role

Magna Powertrain is seeking an Engineer Security & Fire Protection to lead fire safety and security initiatives across its facilities. The role combines regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and on‑site supervision to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance with fire laws, regulations, and internal safety procedures for all construction and unconventional operations.
• Manage permits, approvals, and supervision of hot‑work activities, including on‑site fire‑watch.
• Oversee fire‑protection maintenance, routine fire‑alarm inspections, and annual calibration of combustible gas detectors.
• Supervise handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and precursor chemicals, ensuring safe loading/unloading practices.
• Ensure adherence to national labor, security, environmental, and occupational health regulations.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher in Security, Administration, Fire Protection or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in security, fire protection, or administrative management.
• Strong communication, investigative abilities, and political sensitivity.
• Team‑oriented with rigorous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Fire safety regulations knowledge (Fire Law, fire ordinances).
• Fire‑alarm system inspection and calibration.
• Hazardous chemical handling and waste management.
• Mid‑level or higher fire‑protection certification issued by fire authorities.
