Software Engineer

About the role

HSBC is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design and develop mobile components, libraries and reference applications. You will work within the IWPB Technology team, contributing to high‑quality, secure and performant mobile solutions that support the bank’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and document mobile components, libraries and reference applications using the latest technologies.
• Build applications that meet load, performance, availability, security and resilience requirements.
• Automate build, testing and deployment processes to ensure consistent, high‑quality releases.
• Maintain compliance with service‑management standards and ensure data quality in systems of record.
• Drive continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines within a DevOps product/service team.
• Stay current on cyber‑security, data‑privacy, consent and data‑residency regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in native Android development with Kotlin and Java.
• Ability to work with geographically distributed, cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
