Process Support Engineer – Inline 3D X‑ray

About the role

The Process Support Engineer will provide on‑site technical support for Applied Materials' inline 3D X‑ray inspection tool used in advanced packaging. You will work directly with top‑tier semiconductor customers, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and developing process parameters.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer fabs to install, diagnose, and repair the inline 3D X‑ray inspection tool.
• Investigate complex tool performance issues, develop new features, and optimize process parameters for advanced packaging inspection.
• Support hardware qualification, tool bring‑up, and hardware configuration changes.
• Collaborate with remote engineering teams, provide field feedback for product improvements, and participate in product presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (physics, materials science, electrical/electronics, chemical engineering, etc.).
• 2–4 years of experience in semiconductor fab or equipment industry.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; statistical data analysis.
• Experience with Linux and Windows environments.
• Programming/scripting in Python (preferred).
• Familiarity with EPICS or similar control systems.
• Knowledge of DOE principles and data‑analysis tools such as JMP, SPC, MATLAB, or Mathematica.
• Understanding of semiconductor process tools and X‑ray technology.
